Default Back hatch is getting stiff to open

My back hatch is getting stiff and when I got to open it...

the plastic piece attached to the button will pop out of its housing...
&
I will have to use two hands to make sure I don't break it and have to left it from the lip of the lid.

what can I do to fix this? Do I need to replace my shock dampeners?

if you leave the hatch half way up, does it fall down or stay open?
you need new strut if it falls down.
You might want to tighten the screws in the back of the hatch handle.

I replace my hatch strut few week ago. It only take a screw driver to pop the old ones out.
U can just push the new struts in place, don't need screwdriver.
Now my hatch is 10x easier to open, but takes more force to close it.
