Brake squeal.. fix for it?
just started to get squeal coming from the brakes.. brakes will have already been warmed up and then apply the brakes lightly, squealing results! Now I'm not talking that sandpaper swishing noise after the car is cold and has been parked over night, this is loud.. It happens all the time now after the brakes have gotten wet.. after they squeal it's like i have to heat up the brakes to get some friction to clean them off..
last time something like this happened it was with my old civic, mechanic applied more anti-noise goop to the backs of the brake pads, and voila! no more noise.. other's might say to use brake cleaner, but wouldn't just friction take off the "stuff" on the rotors and pads causing it to squeal?
so hey all/any thoughts are appreciated.. yeah i will take it to the dealer (only 8000 miles and haven't been hard on the brakes, seriously!) would this be covered under warranty? or would the dealer just claim "normal wear and tear"??
but i just want to know what everyone thinks it is.. thanks..

Try bedding in your brakes with this procedure.

Read it thoroughly. For stock pads, I would recommend doing it on the gentler side. This procedure was meant for performance pads.

i know what your talking about i had the squeak from around 5k, well at 10,000 the front pads were gone, i put project u pads on they work great but they are squeaking again , the reason for that is the brake past to lube the brakes i cleaned off with some cleaner , so i have to lube them again, soon im going to change the pads and rotors, to powerslot cryo rotors and hawk pads, just need part number for rear pads, take the car to the dealer they should be able to lube them,
ahh i see. So what brand names for Brake pads would you guys recommend?? and What size/part number would it be?
Also, what do you think the mileage would be before changing the brake pads.

me im heavy on the brakes thats why they were gone at 10k, i would look at them and check percentages around there, alot of people say hawk is great or axis, but need to look up part numbers for ones that work because they say some dont work,
Brake pads should be changed when they reach approximately 2mm in thickness. When they are 3mm in thickness, it's time to start keeping an eye out on them.
For performance street driving, I would recommend Axxis Ultimate pads or Hawk HPS. Hawk HP+ pads tend to make a little noise. Axxis Ultimates and Hawk HP+ are the best in terms of performance, however performance has it's drawbacks. The higher performance pads will shed more brake dust and sometimes make more noise. Less performing pads will have less dust and less noise. There just isn't a way to have everything. The new Ceramic pads don't shed a lot of dust, however their performance is not as good as say something like a Hawk HP+ or Axxis Ultimate
