Old news dude. It has been talked about plenty here. Check out the red search button. There is a thread on how to make your own in the FAQ section. Its for an xA, but it still applies to the tC because its the same filter in basically the same place.

Isn't it odd, then, that my Scion dealer has a stack of Toyota brochures next to the Toyota Filters for the Scion on display in the parts area.
The brochures tout the effectiveness of their dust/pollen filters and how wise one is to choose to use Genuine Toyota filters rather than 'aftermarket' filters that may not be of the same high Toyota quality...
And yes, the filters are listed in the parts lookup for the various Scion models, and I find it doubtful that there would be a parts listing for them if they caused a problem.
Remember, please, that the Scion line, in it's entirity, is an economy car line, and many things that fit and work quite well are provided only as an extra-cost item.
The filters aren't included on MANY economy lines because they add cost, and hitting a 'price point' is very important in economy lines of ANY product.
Unless I see something directly from Toyota or Scion that recommends against putting in the optional filters, I'll continue to assume that since they list them in the official parts lookup for the line, they are just fine to use.

Like moriarty said, there isn't one for a reason. I called my dealer and asked how much was an incabin filter and the parts guy said that there isn't one available because of some cooling issues. He also stated that there is a sidenote in the parts catalog stating what he told me.
I actually checked on this last week during my oil change. They checked the part for me and couldn't find 1 for the tC, then they found something in the booklet and showed me. It said something about there isn't a cabin air filter available because of the tC's cooling system.
well, after i put the homedepot 3m filter in, i didn't notice any differences or malfunctions in the cooling system. the ac still blows just like it used to, except now i enjoy 3m-filtered air.

Filthy! There was so much crap in it along with full discoloration. Now I have a reminder on outlook to change it every three months.

As far as the cooling issues.. I have ran mine with the filter and without and can tell absolutely no difference in the heating/cooling system.
