Default Can you cancel options on your tC? Dealer messed up order.

Hey all,

My dealer just called and has my tC ready. I asked for auto-dimming, and floor mats which he got. But he said the "the port messed up" and so now it also comes with a Hotchkins strut bar. I really don't want the strut bar and was wondering if any of you have attempted to take off any options off your car. I'm afraid this will come to a take it or leave it situation. I feel it's unfair because I didn't ask for it in the first place.

tell them take away whatever that's not on your order list. if they threaten you with take it or leave, contract scion headquarter right on the spot, and complaint to scion right in front of their GM. if GM and scion don;t take care of your, tell them you are heading to get an RSX nextdoor or whatever is in competition with scion and you, your family member, your friends and everyone that you know will never buy any toyota product. if they still insist to try to make that extra hundred dollars, just leave. without scion isn't the end of the world.

bottom line, if they don't get what you want, it's not worth to buy from them.

If they messed up they should fix it... BTW, do they want you to pay for it, or is it "On The House"??? If they are, tell them they messed up, and they can either give it as a gift or take it off!

The only thing you get with a port install is a marginally cheaper price on the option. The dealer can install a strut bar just as easily (but for a little more $$$) than the port can.

Which means the dealer can UNinstall the strut bar just as easily. Tell them to take it off, you didn't order it.

Funny how all of these "mistakes" end up costing the customer more money, isn't it?

A strut bar is held on by either four nuts. It can be removed in less than five minutes by the most incompetent mechanic in the shop.

You didn't order it, so you shouldn't have to pay for it. If the dealer won't remove it, call Scion corporate.
