Default changing rear brakes and rotors 05 tc

I have a little over 100,000 miles and need to change rear brakes and rotors. I have done this a million times on other cars I just need to know if anyone had any problems getting the rotors off.

Reason I ask is I tried last year to do a friends 06 Impala and for the life of me couldn't get the rotors off. I would like to do them myself and save money and have never had problems with any of my past cars.

Thanks, jjp

You may just need to tap them a bit to loosen up. Have a rubber mallet handy. Shouldn't give you any problems. Don't forget to reset the E-brake position.

if there really rusted on the car,and hitting them with a hammer doesnt work,i saw some where, where theres a hole in the rear rotor housing itself,if you screw,a bolt into it,ill loosen the rotor up just enough to break it loose,i know,i myself done that,i beleive its where the dust cap is

Default rear brakes

Well it all worked out good. Didn't even have to lift a finger. My local indy guy did the job yesterday for 30 bucks over what i could have gotten the parts for so I figured better him then me on in the driveway dealing with it. Called him at noon and he said bring it up and it was done by 4.

Thanks for the tips anyways, jjp
