Check Engine Light after installing Intake system...Help!
Hey guys, I just installed my Intake yesterday and after running it for about 20 miles my Check Engine Light came on. Then, I tried disconnect and reconnecting the battery
and checking all the wires if they were on tight. The Check Engine Light went away. Today, after driving it again for another 20 miles the check engine light came back on again.
Do you know this problem is occurring? Help please

I would try reconnecting the MAF. But my first thought is that you may have damaged it on the install (they're actually quite fragile).
Again though, which intake did you get? And are you absolutely sure it is for the proper year of tC?

i got Injen intake system SP series which can convert to short ram intake. which is what i installed is short ram intake instead of CAI.

what can i do to get rid of this check engine light, i've been everything that's possible, could it be my MAF is broken, but i just recently purchased this car in march brand new. I had mechanic installed it for me and i noticed that the idiot did not put the shock absorbent screw on so it can align right so what i did was put the shock absorbent screw on so it could align right and it still has check engine light~ help someone please!

Did you idle the car for a little bit when you first installed the intake? I think the MAF is not used to the sudden huge flow of air. I had that happened to me only to find out that my MAF was fried

no i didn't idle the car when i first installed it. so, how did you resolved the problem once u found out ur MAF was fried?

Lets hope its not the MAF sensor because thats the worst case scenario, I think it cost over 200 to get a new MAF sensor. Do u remember damaging the sensor when installing? Check the all hoses to make sure none is getting pinched because that happened to me when I installed the raceland intake.

check everything looks fine, today after driving it for about 50 miles. the check engine went away, hopefully it doesn't come back....(does anyone know what this could possibly be?) Is it the ECU finally learning that there's an intake installed and it read it?

Just drive it. Pretty much every CAI will give you a CEL based on what I've read since I joined here. Mine comes on during humid weather, like during or after a rain, and stays on during the winter. But I get about 29 or 30 mpgs every tank regardless. Just get it cleared right before you go in for an inspection.
