Clear Glass Thermal Heat Film

Clear Glass Thermal Heat Film
I can remember reading somewhere about a clear glass film that when applied it will block around 50-80% of the solar heat that is transferred through glass.
I have all my windows tinted except my windshield, and I thought this would be a big help in keeping the car cool in the HOT phoenix summer.
Does anyone know the name of this product, or anything like it?

I'm not sure whether it's legal to tint the front windshield, however, i've heard that are special film that blocks only UV but not visible light. What I don't understand is that if such technology exist, why the car manufactures use it?

they do use them already. our tC windows are already coated with a chemical to block out most of the UV light.
I dont think it is possible to block out "solar heat" without blacking out the entire car. I dont mean to sound like a scientific a$$, but solar heat results from the proton hitting a surface, in the form of energy. so when the sun shines through the glass, it lights up the car, and causing air molecules to accelerate, causing more heat... if it didn't we'd all have 5% limo tints, and would be dark as hell in there. it would be cooler temp wise, but still dark as hell. I think you meant UV light, which is harmful to your skin. Those are the ones you want to block. I dont think you can block "solar heat" tho.... just get one of those reflective sunshade things. It really works, i have two.

anyone in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area found a place that will do tint for less then $160? and will they do the LLumar film on the front window (or is that not necessary?)?
the dealer will do it for $195, but if i can save a considerable amount at a reputable place, i'd rather get it elsewhere.

you can check out formula one's UV shield too.
http://www.formulaone.com/
Click the UV shield button. It says that it rejects 20% solar energy 99.9% UV, and has a 78% visible light transmition
