Default Closest Competitors

I got this from Yahoo Auto:

"The 2005 tC is a 2-door, 5-passenger family coupe, available in one trim only, the Sport Coupe. The 2005 tC's closest competitors include the Chevrolet Cavalier, the Pontiac Sunfire, and the Saturn ION"

Did I read that right?

as far as options go... saturn is one of the biggest competition. saturn and hyundai seem to put a ton of options on some of their cars. then theres the cooper which also has a ton of features. i cant say anything for build quality in any of them. style, power and pricing is also a completely different story.

as far as im concerned ... the tC stands in a class yet to be defined.

I say it's market is home to the late and deceased Civic Si Coupe. . . and no I don't count that new hatchback. . . it never really appealed to me. The Scion is pretty comparable, albeit a bit chunkier on the scale.

I agree with the 99-00 Civic Si but I don't think the Tc is going to come close to it in fun factor. I had a 2000 Si and the motor along with a CAI would give you goosbumps once you hit about 5,500 rpm. I wish I would have never sold mine. I bought it new and 14 months later sold it for $200 more then what I paid for it new. I'm guessing that will never happen again. It wasn't that fast of car it's just that it sounded so sweet and you could feel such a big kick.

Just for reference I've owned an 03 350Z, Z-28 w/427 L-88, and a cbr600(I'm currently driving a Camry).

Having said all that I think the TC will be a big hit.
