when i took my tc one of my complementary first three oil changes at a toyota dealership in cumberland, md, they had no clue what my car was, i had to pop the hood and show them the emblem on the engine and my little manual that said the first three were free, then i had to wait forever because they couldn't figure out how to put it in their computer to discount the oil change to me. what did shock me though was the the mechanic actually reset my oil change button which is something the dealership i bought it from always forgets. so a toyota dealership not having a clue what my car is scarier than a cop not knowing. also, if the cops don't recognize a tc, since the front takes ques from volvo's, and the rear looks like honda accords, and then the g6 completely ripped it off.

I'm glad that under the hood, the tC is basically a Camry/Solara so working on my car and the wife's is a snap.

I drove her car the other day and I must say that I can appreciate the tC's low gears. While the Solara is great for cruising on the freeway, 80mph = 3,000rpm. However, I got frustrated when I would pass other cars. Even shifting to 3rd helps a little but combining the higher gears with the heavy body, made it take longer to pass other cars.

I just got my registration today and it says Toyota Scion as well, BUT, I did notice something.

The xA, xB, and tC are very different cars. I noticed under body style it says tC. So it makes sense. There is no sedan tC, no coupe xA, and xB is, well, an xB. The body style is already indicated by the model. This means that as long as the tC name is used, it will always be a coupe(and probably can't be a convertible).

xA = sedan, xB = van(or similar), and tC = coupe

So instead of: Pontiac G6 Coupe
it will be: Toyota Scion tC

^^ 4 doors? You should tell your insurance company the roof doesn't count as a door

Maybe they counted the hatch and the hood.

Oh yea, and the first time I got pulled over, the cop asked what kind of car it was, so I said Scion xA pretty clearly. He wrote Scion X8 on the ticket.

If the cop doesn't know what kind of car is breaking the law how can he possibly say it was you, it would never hold up in a court of law

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't even try. I even told him that he got it wrong, and he said "it's fine."

Actually, it all boils down to this:

No one cares.

It's the exact same reason no uses correct grammar or takes the time to spell properly when posting to forums.

Mine says make: Toyota. Model: tC.

I got pulled over a while back and after the deputy ran my tag he came back and said "This comes back to a Black (My car is BCP), Toyota." I said "yeah, its not." Then he let me go. I was kind of confused that that was all it took to convince him but, whatever.
