Default couple of noise problems on my tC

I have tein S-techs, and it seems when i turn my steering wheel i get a loud noise from the front right strut, no matter the speed, it does it when the wheel turns, like it's in the wheel bearing or something...anyone have any advice on this? can i just take it all apart again and re-gresae it or something?

Also I just installed an aftermarket cd player and now the little radio door cover squeaks like a mouse every time I hit a bump, it's really annoying

well the springs might not be installed correctly.. make sure they are sitting in their perches correctly..

the noise from the radio door can be fixed with a replacement door, there is a TSB (service bulletin) on that.. the other noises from the center console can be fixed by putting foam tape around the holes where the clips insert into the dash.. that will fix the noise..

so if i take it in to fix the door they won't blame it on the aftermarket deck? that will be great, that noise is so annoying

I will take the strut apart tonight to make sure the spring is set in properly

no i don't think they should blame the aftermarket deck.. if your car is an 05 with a VIN (last six digits) before 026171 then it is covered under a service bulletin.. Otherwise the dealer should help you out and just order a new door under warranty.. and they can also apply a "toyota noise kit" to the console.. it's basically foam tape stuck around where the clips are inserted into the dash holes..

yeah the spring should sit right into the perch indendation.. otherwise it might make a sort of groaning noise.. hope that helps..

got the strut fixed, the bearing had no grease in it

the dealer said they fixed the door but it still squeaks just as bad as ever, i had to shove a piece of paper in there to stop it....do you have any info on the TSB to replace it?

yeah the tsb number on the radio door is BO (as in BOdy) 007-05 . Title "Audio Unit Cover Improvement" for 2005 tC's produced before VIN (last six digits) 026171 sequence number..

the other fix is the foam tape around the holes for where the console clips into the dash.. dealer should get you a new door even if yours isn't part of the tsb..
