So yeah, basically took a turn too fast through the canyons, skidded out off the road, jumped a gap, and somehow landed sideways, hitting a tree and magically didn't flip. The only major damage was to the front, there wasnt a scratch on the drivers side from the headlight back nor on the rear. The sunroof wouldn't close though, it looked bent :/ It was open during the impact so im not sure if its just the sunroof or if the frames bent. I took some pictures with the camera on my phone so please excuse the quality. Any ideas if it would be totalled or not please feel free to comment. Also forgot to mention, I walked out without a scratch at all. Air bags never deployed, amazing.

Last week (thursday or Friday) I saw an IIP tC smashed to hell on the front end going, on a flatbed, to a body shop in Anaheim.

 

I meant to post about that IIP i saw, but forgot when I got back from lunch.

 

I would easily say totaled, but the airbags didn't deploy.

to me it looks like not alot of damage to the front so air bags were not deployed.... all i see is his bumper fell off...but good luck with everything and keep us updated...

 

you better hope they total it. It looks like it probably just hosed your front fender, FR suspension, 1 wheel, a headlight, bumper and hood. Maybe you're subframe is hopefully bent. Either way it's gonna be close. Slow down dom terretto.

 

Slow down next time. It's a tC, you shouldn't be taking turns too fast. Lesson learned the hard way.

I mean i would feel bad if someone hit your car, a freak of nature but when you come in oh i took a turn to fast through a canyon and wreck my car and my airbags didn't deploy don't look at me for sympathy.

I wasn't exactly looking for sympathy but you can think whatever you want. I was just saying the airbags didn't go off so apparently the way the car hit the ground, iono.

 

Air bags deploy based on forces measuered by acceloramators (not sure how to spell it) mounted in the front of the car in various places. If the bumper beam structre didnt move much, or not "quick enough" the air bags won't deploy.

I'd think the car is totalled from the look of the front suspension. The strut tower, etc.. is all structural member of the car, and it all most likely moved alot.

Keep your fingers crossed it is totalled, and be thankful you didn't harm anyone (including yourself) while driving above your limits.
