I have never claimed to have a lot of general knowledge about cars. Some cars I know better than others, like a 94-96 Firebird I know that pretty damn well, but for the most part, I don't know SHEEIT.

semi-interesting side note....I can rebuild the shift linkage on a '91 VW Fox in about 90mins with nothing but a pair of pliers, a flathead screwdriver, and about less than 5" of hose.

All old cars ran on ladder frame type setups. Now days cars are made with the frame built into the shape of the car, hence the term (unibody). IT's more cost effective, and compact so it provides more room for interior space and cargo. The only cars still made today on ladder frames are trucks and REAL suvs like the Land Cruiser ,4runner and FJ cruiser. Fake trucks like the Honda Ridgeline are unibody, severly limiting it's towing capacity(it takes a strong frame to tow over 4-5000 pounds). Most SUVs are even Unibody, like the Rav4, Highlander, All the mazda SUVS, and so on and so on. THe frame setup is while old muscle cars handle so poorly... they were built like trucks. Sure they are fast, but they were never known for their handling. Todays mini-vans can outhandle and out brake most early performance cars( tho it would look quite stupid in the act). LOL, if any of yall read any background info on Fast n' Furious Tokyo drift, in the mustang vs 350Z race, the stunt driver of the Z had to constantly slow down to allow the Stang to keep up because of it's poor handling.

That and its a 40 yr old car. 1 look under that car and a sporty modern car will tell you that pretty much everything on it that was good then is far out of date now. 40 years from now some econo cars will be doing the same thing to all the sporty cars we have today. Hell most cars built in the last few years can outrun and out handle sports cars from 20 years ago.

lol, that was stupid. How do you explain the damage to two seperate cars, in "matching spots" and say it was a hit and run... How did they not put that together???

Wow..just wow..im speechless...

You need to die...seriously not cool... i wasnt aware crashing into car's and ditching was the new fad...

As for the OP ..sucks to be you right now i suppose. Live and learn. Luckily i learned by being in a crash in a friends RX7. It wasnt even that large of a crash(he went up a curb and snapped one sappling tree in half and half broke the 2nd, got lucky they werent full grown yet)..

Scared the living geezus out of me, one of those life before your eyes moments ...
