Default Dealer f'ed up my wheel stud!

I just got my set of rims and I'm all excited to put them on. I loosen up the lug nuts... raise the car... removed all 4 lugs nuts then to the 5th and it's so hard to remove! when i finally got it out you can see all these lil metal shavings! Stupid ___ dealer can't even screw something on correctly. I know this is the dealer's fault because when i bought the car it had some chromes on it as an option but i didn't want it so they took it off and put the stocks back on. It's been 3 months since i had the car... any1 know if the dealer would fix it? i dunno how i can prove that it was there fault...

call scion and report them.. scion would most likely replace the hub for you (includes the 5 lugs).. i'd call scion and let them in on it before going back to that idiot dealer.. how do these techs even get these jobs? can't screw something on? probably didn't hand tighten them, the technician just probably put them on with an air gun..

well ur not even supposed to put them on by air gun you gotta torque them down in a cross pattern. thats the correct way to put on lug nuts.

mostly likely they will replace the wheel stud(not the whole hub assembly) removing a wheel stud is inexpensive and your dealership should be able to do it with no problem.

never let the dealer/shop use a torque gun. In most cases it will scratch ur nice rims.

The dealer repaired the stripped stud... i asked them to please check the other wheels because i do not want to find another one cross threaded, they responded (No Problem I've have that taken care of) so that night i went home expecting to put on my new wheels. well what do you know? another stud is cross threaded on another wheel. did they check? NO so i go back in the next day and get that one replaced.. i got my key and went to inspect the car and there are paint chips near the lug holes! WTF i hate this damn dealer... i walked up to the "service MANAGER" and said i got my car serviced and they scratched my wheel he says "oh yea the tool scratched it, it's bound to happen, it happens all the time" i said no they should be more careful and he responds "what do you want me to do about it?" i want it fixed "well i can send it out and get it polished but that's the only thing i can do but you are going to be riding on a donut" i said fine i just want it fixed "okay bring it back next week cause we cannot do anything now"

I got in my car and started driving and there were 2 miles more on the car no big deal right? the first time they serviced it no miles added but this time 2 miles added... why is that??? and my stereo settings are all changed? just cause i have a subwoofer u gotta test it out? puttin the bass at 5? i know i'm just nit picking now but this dealer is so horrible!

I HATE PUENTE HILLS SCION!!!!!! HATE IT!!!!!!!!!

yeah sounds like you got a f'd up dealership. id report them to scion, toyota motor corp, the better business bureau, and i believe there is some automotive repair service org that logs this too.

hey you have got to report them to scion! don't take it into your own hands.. screw that.. call scion.. watch how fast you get a NEW rim! then don't ever go back there.. time to find another dealership.. this is crazy, what's next they drive your car into a wall and tell you that they can "buff that out"?? call scion.. then find another dealer..

Ouch.

I love how the guy said "Yeah the tool does that, happens all the time; what can ya do about it?"

... How about using a real tire iron instead of a high speed machine that is going to damage wheels. Please, if you balance it right you can get a lug nut flush with the wheel in just a few seconds more than the air guns.

Report them to Scion. He just admitted he knows the air guns can damage the wheels but they continue to use them. Not cool.

Well I called up Scion and they told me to go to the dealer and try to clear it up there first. If they won't take care of it then Scion will step in. I went to the dealer and spoke with the "guess relations" manager and she wrote every complaint I had (i want the tech who drove my car to get in trouble) she calls in the "service director (she said never talk to the service manager they don't do shiet always ask for the director) service director took a look at the car and apologized went into the "guest relations office" and said "order him a New set of wheels" I'm gettin a new set of wheels and the "guess relations manager" said since i went through so much trouble she'll give me free car rental whenever i bring my car in for anything. (but i don't think i will be returning to that dealer for any service)

even though it was a lot of trouble and waste of time i'm happy cause i had a curb rash on one of the wheels and it's gonna get replaced with a new one!

I would never _____ at a dealer and then leave my car with them... that's almost as dumb as yelling at a resturant that has to bring you your food... you KNOW it's going to get f'ed with.

NO offense to any GOOD dealers on here, but more are shady. They KNOW that if something breaks you're going to take the car to them, so they usually break stuff - or set stuff up to break - just to get you back in there eventually. You think they do all that warranty work for free? I know the kind of ____ they do because my girlfriend used to work at a car dealership that was certified by that manufacturer (not going to name any names).

I've had my cars from back fromt he dealership with my stereo stuff ALL messed up before. Those two miles on your car are probably from the "testing the wheels" in the back - e.g. rodding the ____ out of it - and there's no way you'll ever be able to tell.
