My dad got one of these for his used benz a couple of years back and my mom for her camry a year ago...

 

I got a letter from a dealership saying they would help me pay off my loan because they really need my car (yeah right, 10+ years old!). Of course, it's all BS. I paid cash for my USED car to a private 3rd party sales lot. The only reason they got my name was because I went in for the recall.

 

Wow, that is probibally one of the most brilliant come back to the dealership schemes ive ever seen!! If youve sold cars you know that once someone steps into the dealership about 80% of the work is allready over. Damn, i wonder how many people are falling for this. Damn.... thats shady

And when i walk into my dealership, they know its because i either A. have a question i want answered, or B. i want a part ordered or priced. Its definitly not to get rid of my baby

 

Heck, my mum even got one from her Ford dealer for her FIFTEEN YEAR OLD FORD TEMPO...

It's a standard tactic to get former customers into the dealership so they can sell 'em a new car. Dealerships have used it for decades.

I've gotten one for my Honda and my Jeep, which at the time had 200,000 miles on it lol.
