dealership service
hey all. i bought my new 08 tC at the end of april and have racked almost 1700 miles on it and my dealer was kind of an idiot. when should i bring it back to them for the first oil change and such? i was told my first 3 serivces are free. im assuming around the typical 3000 i should schedual it? or becuase its brand new the first one should come at like 2,000?
thanks!

Everyone has their own opinion. First off for normal driving you really only need oil changes every 6 months / 5000 miles. Toyota recommends that interval and most dealerships have switched over to that. Being a new car you may want to have it changed a little early, say 3000 miles but I really don't think its that big of a deal on cars these days. This of course is assuming you drive the car normally. If you race or push it hard you may want to change the oil more often.

hmm thats wierd. maybe its just our dealer. i thought you were suppose to get 2 oil changes and a tire rotation so that way your first 10000 miles are covered. well at least we got rid of the 3 free. hmm

Scion recommends having your car maintenanced every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever occurs first.
And the Complimentary maintenances from Scion were 3 on every 2004-2007 MY Scion and 2 (the 5k and 10k) on the 08-09 MY Scions.
