Dealerships
So, I brought my car in to have the security installed and they had to fix a defect in the paint - a bubble, as well as replace the bumper appliqué because of a bubble & some fuzz that was underneath of it. When it was in for the work, they must have opened my door into a cement wall or something because there is a chip in the metal & in the paint in one spot, as well as a paint scratch in another spot.
Why are people so careless. -_-

Lol, yea... I never paid attention to that. Have had it 1 month 2 weeks. But the sales rep who sold me the car & I spoke with said "I didn't notice that there when I drove it before." So I can use that in my arguments... and oh, I will get angry.
Sorry to hear that dude. I would be upset too. My dealer was good, no problems as far as I can tell. But I was worried because of the kids they have washing cars are just that; high school kids. But you know, it came out well. They actually gave my car to a body shop next door to install the bumper appliqué because the sales man told me the dealer guys couldn't get them right. But if it makes you feel better my tC already has a few scratches that I have found. She isn't even 3 months old yet! and I keep finding more scratches .
Yeah, I had work done on my old car ('90 Honda accord for all that care) and it had the rear rust out over the wheels. I had it fixed at the body shop back home and I asked them about that. (I washed and waxed once a week at that time). He told me as long as I didn't use a paste wax I would be fine. He told me that liquid waxes let the paint breath more than paste and I only needed to give it a few days. I gave it a few weeks but I didn't ruin anything. Plus it takes time for our cars to get into the US. Mine took over 60 days. I washed and waxed my tC when I got home from the dealer. I haven't seen any problems with my paint.

I just think it's hilarious that when a doctor recommends something, it's OK!
A dealership recommends something for your car and their ripping you off...AMAZING!
I actually think the doctor is ripping you off when you get that bill!...

The dealership's recommendation to repairing this was with touch-up paint... Otherwise they'd have to take off the paint along that side and repaint it; which obviously isn't a good idea.
I was thinking... have them do the touch-up, so that they are responsible for it since it is their problem, and get it in writing that if the paint bubbles, chips, or anything else in that location, that they are responsible for the repair.
Any suggestions on another option, or perhaps another way to go about doing this?
