Default door check part

Hi, I just bought a 2006 scion tc 2 days ago and I already noticed a broken part on the door. I believe its called the door check - prevents the door from swinging open. Does anyone know the part number or where I can find out this information? I will pay pal you 5 bucks for this. thats how desperate I am.

What side of the door are you talking about? The hinge side (towards the engine) or latch side (towards the door handle)?

TRDSparks.com would be a good place to look to see if you can buy the OEM part. Or, take it to your closest dealer and have them look it up for you, tell them you want to price it.

Also, junk/salvage yards are a good route to go too.

there was a technical service bulletin on this with an updated door check part. The previous one was weak and could snap off because the bolts holding it would come loose. The dealer should be able to print you off a copy of the tsb, i couldn't find the one i had.
