Has anyone ever removed or replaced their driver or passenger door window by themselves? Is it easy? Whats the process like? Any info would be appreciated!

 

I just replaced my passenger door window today, with the help of my friends. 3 screws, to remove door panel, then 2 bolts hold the window in place.

 

shouldn't be hard... I used to r/i windows and doors at a body shop. Sometimes theres a few tricks to it tho...

 

rather than creating a whole new thread about this, and since this questions seems to have been answered, i'm going to blatantly jack this and ask a question....

how much does a driver side window cost for the tC?

reason i ask...

when the dealer put my springs on, they put a small ding in my driver's side door. (and a scratch above my fender) when i went to get the ding taken out, they shoved a piece of metal between the window and door, and pushed the ding out. well, that solved the ding problem, but it also scratched the hell out of my window.

so, i bring my car up there to get the scratch above the fender buffed out, and to get the window buffed if possible, and get a loaner. next day i go there to pick up my car, expecting both problems to be taken care of, but the window scratches were still there.

the dealer is trying to convince me to "live with the window scratches, and let him do something else for me"

he didn't say what this something else was, and told me to call him in the next few days to discuss it.

now, it may sound like i'm naive and i'm going to let him get over on me, but that's not the case. he is going to replace my window, period, unless he offers me something i can't refuse. but in order for me to know if it's worth it or not, i need to know how much a new window costs.

so, who knows? i'd really appreciate the info. thanks.

i used to work for and auto glass company, and when i was there tempered glass is expensive. i would estimate about $350ish for a new door glass. since the glass is so big.
