today when the engine was already running, i turn the key forward instead of backward to turn it off. and when i did this, the engine sounded like it was trying to start up again. I'm worried that this may have damaged my engine somehow???

 

I bet it was a loud kinda of a screaming sounds? It just damaged ur starter a lil bit, nothing to worry about just dont do it again. EVER!

 

Its possible that it damaged your starter or the flywheel, but I doubt it....Does it make any weird noises now when starting again?

 

Starter more than anything...Flywheel is a bit hard to damage...

 

it make a really loud noise, if you do it in a parking garage everyone will be looking and laughing at you. This is kinda why I dont like really quiet engines.

 

nothing to worrry about man. it happens the best of us. just try not to do it often.

 

Dont worry too much. My last car was a mitsubishi galant 2000. And anyone who has owned that car can tell you the engine is ridiculously quiet. When stopped, you really cant tell its on or off. I lost count of how many times i double started it. And the car is still perfect.

I wouldnt recommend making it a habit of doing it a lot though.

 

Wait until the buzz sets in a little before starting out on your cruise

 

no big deal, damage is minimal if any....c ontinue driving your baby, just be careful

 

haha when i was a car inspector i couldent tell you how many times i have done that.
