Drop a 2JZ-GTE in there J/K

A 2zz-ge would fit, but the tranny is too long, and its hard to find this engine for cheap. Another option is the 3S-GTE engine, but I don't know too much information on that. Either way, it will cost A LOT of money to do an engine swap. Either get the supercharger kit or get a turbo kit (I think there's a few out there), and just do internals.

They might. It would be real hard saying if they do or not.. I dont think Toyotas are as big with the whole engine swap thing as the hondas are.

Hopefully a few years down the road, people will become more knowledgable in the swaps.

I would love to swap in a 2zz a couple years down the road..180 hp+2340 lb xA=fun stuff.

I bet you could swap in an xB engine with little or no modification. That might get that aerodynamic doorstop moovin'

That's what they call "sarcasm."

I need to weigh the xA. A few of my friends have Celica GTSs and one of them said his GTS, "on the scale[,] weighs 2275 without [him] and 3 ticks of gas...no spare or jack." The curb weight is said to be 2580 lbs...makes me want to weigh my xA...

You'd be better off getting a car that came with the 3S-GTE from factory than trying to swap it in to your xB.

What's the big deal with the 2zz engine anyway? That's the Celica engine is it not? I'm a complete noob at all this engine stuff, but looking at the specs, I'm not understanding what all the talk is about.

the engine is considerably smalland light weight with a lot of HP and not to mention the best toyota cam system.

vvtL-i " L " actually makes a big differences.

and my favorite of all. the bliss number "6" (6 speed)

If your going to start doing engine swaps, then I suggest you either start learning how to weld or find somebody who welds and can make custom stuff for you as you'll likely need it.

Good luck though!

Default Corolla XRS engine?

Okay, I'll ask the obvious. Has anyone given serious thought to maybe swapping the XRS engine from a Corolla into an xB? I mean, it's only 300cc's bigger, but has 170+ hp, which is WAY more than a turbo or supercharger kit would add to a stock 1500cc xB engine...
