a few wrong things here on this thread. true, most gas engines can run on e-10. most gas in the us has e-10 because of the same reasons stated above, cleaner burning, supports america's farmers. but gasohol isn't going to save you any money.
one person stated that his dad saves money because e85 is cheaper than regular gas. this is usually true, but a flex fuel vehicle gets better mpg on gas, than e85, and the price difference isn't enough to make buying e-85 cost effective. you get 25% less mpg with e85 than regular gas, but e85 isn't 25% cheaper than gas. e-85 is pretty much a dead end just like hybrids. the better move for alternative fuels would be bio diesel.
