evap emissions help

Default evap emissions help

So my cel came on code p0453 .. has anyone had any issuses with this?? I take it to a dealer ship and they tell me is the canister but are not 100% sure.. don't want to waste money if they r not sure.. please help

I have never heard of P0453 for the tC evap system, however I just replaced my canister purge solenoid last weekend to fix my P0441 & P0455...since the dealership said it was the purge canister I figured I would show you what I found. I will attach the thread that helped me fix the problem at the bottom of this post. The only way I strayed from the thread was when I ordered parts. I searched the part numbers on ebay instead of RockAuto and got the solenoid and PCV valve for just over $60 which saved me about $10.

Possible causes
- Faulty Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) Vapor Pressure Sensor
- Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) Vapor Pressure Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) Vapor pressure sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- EVAP system hose (pipe from air inlet port to canister pump module, canister filter, fuel tank vent hose)
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
