Umm... add the TRD Supercharger and that puts the tC right up in Acura RSX territory... I'd rather have the Ac than a tC, sorry.
You'd rather have an NA RSX over a supercharged tC? Even to get the tC into the RSX price range you'd have $4k to deal with, so figure SC, intake and maybe retool the suspension a bit. The type-S, which is probably the only RSX that could hang with a SC'd tC is another $3.5k more.

That really sucks! But $3000 seems too expensive...

BTW, I love your avatar DuMa! You like Hyo Ri Lee too? Are you a Korean?

With 9.6:1 compression I'd say to hell with a super charger. Give me a big nasty laggy turbo anyday.

From what I've read, no. Turbo lag is exaggerated. Depends on the size of your turbo etc.

In the end, I care about maintainability and hp/torque (at the end of the day you can call it "parasitic and I won't give a rat's ___ provided it's there). I've got some time to make a decision seeing as how the TRD s/c keeps getting pushed back.

If you put a turbo that spools at 2k, then no. If it gets full boost at 5500, then yes it would suck.

Lag depends on the size of the turbo. You can easily put a smaller turbo that will have full boost around 2500, make 300+hp, and make a much better powerband than a SC.

What you should begin to believe is that no one knows how much it's going to cost with or without installation.

the delay is the fact that people are _____ing about 40 hp gains and trd know they can make more than that so they delayed it to make sure its perfect and has a very nice hp gain to make it worth the wait and money

Sorta. Needed from stop, maybe around corners sure. Needed once you pass 25mph and going straight, not likely. Needed for normal driving around town, not likely.

Really just depends where you plan to use the power. I'd like the power for between 40-90, going mainly straight, when I am passing people.

My 2 cents

well... you can always install a smaller pully

or go with a better SC than the low rated/Low Powered TRD SC.

I think that scion should keep the production hp of the supercharger to 225 at the wheels. Just think no one would ever want the neon srt-4 because this car would be faster and have a more reliable track record (toyota vs. dodge) or for any other car for that matter; RSX type-s, tiburon. Just think a car with 225hp at the wheels for $19k, a dream right now. That will lauch the scion tc into greatness. Scion engineers i hope you are hearing this. Please at least make this car the best in class for the price and performance. You can make alot of money on this supercharger. That's just my 2 cents.
