fixed my rattle... i hope
ok so my rattle was right behind the rear sunroof. I think it was caused by the chassis getting twisted while going over bumps because that's the only time i ever heard it. It was more of a clicking noise, I could recreate the noise by pushing up on the rear window. This clicking was bugging the hell out of me and i don't really trust any dealership, so i went and ahead and ripped off my headliner. It does not require removing any other panels on the car like others have said on other posts, well it does if your really scared about bending the material used for the roof, but it all goes back in with no wrinkles when your done...(this way you guys can all fix that sunroof problem with the loose bolts by yourselves!) I can show you all the process if you want.
But to continue, the rattle was coming from some plastic that was within the bracing that ran across the roof behind the rear sunroof. Plastic bolts with really long stems sticking out of them held that plastic peice in, but i realized that the peice was stuck inside the bracing and it was all welded shut so the bolts were unnecessary. I took the nuts off of the plastic peice and it completely cured my clicking/rattling noise. I'm thinking that the plastic was being sandwiched against the metal and when the chassis twisted it twisted the plastic too, so it clicked against the metal.
Does anyone know if i shouldn't have done that? Anyone know what that plastic thing is? I'll post pics if you guys are having trouble seeing what i'm talking about.
