Default Flat Tire

700 miles on my car-

So my wife was driving and this little symbol poped up on the dash- She didn't know what it was and called me- It is a "!" above a picture that kinda looks like a flat tire, but we didn't know what it was. A few minutes later it was obvious the tire was flat so she pulled over, but the tire was ruined.

My buddy put a Z rated tire on to replace it, but his shop does not carry the Potenzas- I'm gunna take the full size spare tire from my IS300 rim and switch it onto the Scion rim so the tires all match again (yes, the IS300 comes with Bridgestone also)

Now that the tire is no longer flat the light is still on- anyone know how to turn it off?

BTW- the spare wheel is tiny, and painted 1970's yellow!

all you do to turn off the light is hold the little button in the glove box for around 5 seconds or until it turns off

Yeah, just do what jlaznlover said. I wouldn't recalibrate the tire pressure sensor with the spare on...

Owners manual should have the info on correct procedure to reset the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system). When you get the normal tire back on follow the instuctions in the manual. I think it involves pressing and holding the button in the glovebox and then driving for like an hour before the system is operational again. You don't have to do one hour of driving in one take, though.

I'm at work

While I can sneak onto the internet and ask questions on a forum, it may look kinda funny if i'm reading my owner's manual at my desk.

My wife had the tC anyways
