If u have a moded engine, like with a turbocharger and cold air intake.......


how does it affect your gas mileage? just curious

This issue has already been addressed but if the car is modded or has a turbo charger and the car is still driven normal most of the time you won't see to much of a decrease in gas mileage maybe a couple miles to the gallon or so but drive normal and it will stay the same.

 

but can it ever go up with mods?

 

Depending on the vehicle, ive heard a simple CAI and exhaust can add a couple mpgs... but then you will be driving it harder more often to hear the sounds it makes :D - thus defeating the mileage gains, LOL.

my sr powered 240 (2.0L/120 ci) gets 180-240 miles per tank (14-15 gallon tank) depending on how much I ride the boost. i have a turbo upgrade, fmic, bigger injectors, blah blah blah. plus I run rich on the safe side (i'd rather be alittle rich and waste gas, than run lean and detonate the motor). i miss 300 miles a tank. thats why i'm not doing any engine mods to my tC.
