Default Getting a 2007 tc by monday!!!...but have some questions

Hey All,

I've been lurking on here for a few days but this is my first post. I love the site seems cool and not a bashing forum. I went to the dealership today and saw about 7 total tc's. I want super white and manual with the pedestal spoiler. I saw a flint mica one for about 18,400 (price is high because of the side curtain airbags) But I requested a white one and he said he could have it in by Monday.

I really love everything about the car, price, looks, and cool features. Really bang for buck. But I've been reading on here and realized that the 2008 is coming out soon....
I searched some threads and saw some people asking if they should or not and you all said to just go and get the 07 but that was back in December. What do you guys think now? I sorta need the car asap but I hate to miss out on something that is only like a couple months away. Will the price/features and anything be any higher?

I probably will just go ahead and get the 07 but if the 08 is gonna come soon I mean might as well get the newer one right? I appreciate any advice.

David

If you do not need the car right now, I would highly suggest waiting until the 2008 models to come out. I mean, we are already in the end of April, I am sure you can wait a few more months.

I am in a similar situation as you, but I just don't need to buy a new car right now, which is a good thing.

But back to the point, wait until the 2008 models to come out. You won't regret this decision. Newer models usually have better features and revisions.

I think it really comes down to personal preference. If you could wait a few months and get the 08' then by all means. I haven't heard anything against, and nor do i have anything against the 07' since I own one, Flint Mica myself..ttthhhats right. But really I haven't heard of any major changes or concerns that were fixed with the 08'. You can of course go with the :Baller" factor and say, "Yea i got the 08'," lol.

Let us know what you decide. All in all, an excellent company and a great car. So either way I think you'll be good to go.

Good things come to those who wait...? Just food for thought. Alright man, take care. Hope to see you around on the forums![/b][/i]

You probably ran into one of my threads, I'm actually ALMOST positive since you said it was posted in December. The '08 models have newer lights, that is probably the biggest change. There is a thread somewhere if you search, it's pretty big.

The 08's will be a little more expensive just to let you know, but we don't know by how much yet...

Honestly it's up to you, first thing to do is check the lights, unless you plan on changing them anyway.

I have the 07, I got it at the end of March and I couldn't wait because I actually needed a car.

Let us know what happens.

Hey welcome to the scion world! I have a SW 07 and love it. The 08 is going to be very similar to the 07, but with different tail lights and front grille (biggest differences I can remember). I'm sure you can find detailed pictures if you search google and scionlife for "2008 scion tc."

If you can wait for the 08, by all means do it! Having the newest year model will be better - especially since they're not trying out any new mechanical parts in the 08 models. I'm guessing you could be waiting 2-4 months until the 08s show up at your local dealer, so if you can wait that long, I'd recommend doing so. I think when most people shop for a car, they need it within a couple of weeks, so if you're one of those people, don't kill yourself bending over backwards until the 08s come out because yes, they'll be "better", but mainly just because they'll be 08s.

the 08 also has a couple new colors comming out? So that might be another thing to wait for? If the tails and headlights are able to be switched out, i would get the 08 just because its new. I hate the tails and the headlights on it tho. Here's the 2008 tC link....

Actually, im waiting on the 08 models to start rolling out, only to try and grab an 07 leftover, since normally, the prices are dropped down to make room for the newer models.

Scions are sold on the "pure price" system where there isn't any haggling for lower prices. I preferenced my car in october of last year and I was kinda hoping for a deal on an 06, but I don't remember anyone offering them any cheaper. A dealer would have a more definitive answer, but I don't think scion will be lowering prices on the 07s when the 08s come out.

pure price means they have to sell the car at the same price to everyone. dealers can mark down the price of a last year model as long as it's across the board. i've seen dealers do that, sell a brand new tc from a previous year with a $500 markdown. saw it on here too somewhere a while back.

yeah id say get the one of the last 07's. the 08's touches look ugly imo. plus they might cut the price to get it off the lot.

I thought those are not the official picture of the 08 TC's?

Scion didn't make anything official yet.

Well I just got it last night I was one of the last customers there lol. They didn't have any super white's in stock and they had this 300 dollar off thing just for this month for all the instock ones. So I'm like w/e 300 bux for a color is not THAT big of a deal so they had a lot of silver's and that's what I ended up with, and I LOVE IT!! This car is really amazing for the price, design kix ___ and i was impressed. Was gonna go for the pedestal spoiler at first but I really needed to watch my budget since i'm an undergrad and want to go to medschool later on lol.

The dealer was pretty cool also and he told me he's a member on here lol owner of an xB. Got it with one mile on it in one of the separate garages so i'm glad it hasn't been beat on. So right now I'm working on breaking it in nicely.

Thanks for all the replies.

Also it's rumored that '08 tC comes with the iPod connection.
