Anyhow, thanks for the welcome....
Oliver, thanks for the tC... the fast purchase blew our minds!

So, everyone wants to know MINI vs tC...

Well as a new tC owner I can tell you what I feel so far

The Mini Handles AMAZINGLY. Like they say, a gokart. I would relate it to a tight porsche as far as road/driver relation. You really feel like you are part of the car/road. nothing compares.

The Mini Cooper is 115hp. not a whole lot but like Bruce Lee, had a lot of power in a small frame, small and refined.

I am used to the seating in the MINI of course, and it's a cockpit. Made for driving.

The tC is NICE.
The Drive is Peppy and acceleration is quick. it's a 2.4 as opposed to the 1.6 of the MINI.
There's plenty of interior room, it's taking some getting used to of course.

It's less connective as the MINI was, to the road and the driving experience.
But since I'm not a race car driver, this doesn't mean tooooo much to me.
I'm comfortable!

The styling of the tC has drawn me in since that first picture on Scion.com!

We ALMOST jumped into an xB instead, but the tC was a better option!

So far as joining the Scienergy family.... do I get a decal?

How long did you wait for a Black Sand Pearl 5 speed tC?

 

I think it was like 20 minutes.

 

A full week in the tC and I'm impressed.

Dont you find the mini even at that house power handles so much better...and the quality of the inside of the mini nicer?

interior quality is about the same

handling in the mini IS better but each (tc and mc) are built for differant drivers.
MINI has been targeting the Curve huggers
Scion target the trend setters and followers ( a better market to hit I believe)

The MINI has RELIABILTY issues and My particular issue is the treatment from MINI to THEIR buyers. It's really bad.

Scion is a fun brand. Mini is a fun brand.

I would say, the playing field is even.

I believe the tC motor is a stronger platform than the MINI's.
The warranty on the Scion is better than the MINI
The insurance is lower on the Scions than the MINI's
The aftermarket is wider on the Scions than the MINI's


It's a preference
