If you know what you're looking for, you can tell the difference between a car thats been driven (hard, but responsibly) and a car that someone just beat.
When I almost got into a subie it was a 40yr old guy that bought a base WRX and did a complete STi swap on everything. All I remember is looking underneath and seeing Perrin everywhere, coilovers, the STi brakes, STi motor, it was a 6spd... completely sick.
His sons had STi's and he didnt like the wing and what not so he bought the WRX and retrofitted it, just to go to car meets with the boys. He got over it after a year and traded it for a Tundra.
It was going to be like 24k... what an idiot I was.

Wait, he bought a WRX and did a complete STi swap because he didn't like the wing? Did he know that he could have bought an STi and just swapped trunks with a WRX?
