I don't know if this has already been stated but, if the parking lot is their property they do have some liability to pay for damages I believe.

This is true...but in not as nice neighborhoods or Walmart parking far away is asking for your car to be broken into

Ok here's a small update. I talked to the employee rep. She told me there is some kind of liability statement, however I have never seen a sign on the building and I have been working there for 6 years. She said she would talk to the store manager and get back to me. I am planning on putting a picture of the damage on her desk so she knows it did happen.

As far as the "scratches" go. After looking closer, it seems as they are actually scuff marks from the rubber bumper on the corner of the cart. If I rub them they come off for the most part.

I can't ride my bike to work. It was 10 degrees out the last few days. I live in Massachusetts.

Hope to hear from the insurance company today as well as the store.

I'll keep everyone posted.

I used to work for A&P food stores in NJ years ago, Same thing happened in a wind storm, cart busted rear tailight dented bumber, trunk, and left quarter panel. Went in and talked to store manager, he gave me hard time about it. I went to the union rep. and he said that there where carts all over the lot that day, and it is the stores responsibility to have a cart boy out there to put them away especialy in bad weather conditions! Manager told me to go get estimate, I did, A&P cut me a check and I got my car fixed! They are diffently liable so don't let them BS their way out of it! GOOD LUCK!

Car goes in for repairs Monday. It's gonna take four days. I haven't heard the final word on the $$$ it's gonna cost yet.

Talked to the store manager, he said "We don't pay for damage. That is one hel of a dent though". Gee thanks. I probably would have pushed it but I am in the process of applying for a internship in the company's IT department. I would rather get the job than $300.

I also got the official quote from the insurance... $1615.46... Ouch.
