I just bought some low beam bulbs. They're rated at 80 watts, but the originals are rated at 51w. Is 80w too high? I don't want to fry anything.

hmmm good question.. i would think that keeping the voltage the same would be important....do yourself a favor and just get an H.I.D. kit....

 

You may want to upgrade your wires. 50 to 80 watts is almost double, and it could eventually fry it... maybe not now, but down the line.

Or, sell it and get something closer to stock, like thunder 7500k's, or silverstars.

I have seen wires melt before, though the wattage was higher than 80, but I'd rather play it safe. But like he said, HID's are the way to go. I'm riding with these bulbs until I'm done with my other mods and I can throw some money into a projector HID retro.

 

I don't want to get HID's till some Decently Priced projectors come out. The lights look hot, but i really don't want anything to get fried. You know any sites for headlight bulbs?
