id say it would be pretty simple. take out the clips and the bolts above the back seat but you might have to remove the a pillar. not sure if anybody has done it. tell us how it turns out

This is a fairly complex issue due to the sun roofs, etc, alot of parts need to be removed in a certain order, easy to damage or stain the liner and the A pillars, B pillars, etc.

It is easy to damage the liner as well and there are velcro attachments that do not seperate very well.

If I had more time I would write up a proceedure but it would take just to long to do.

Take your time, look things over very carefully, do not force anything, watch out for the B pillars and be carefull not to bend the head liner in that area.

if you're an amature or get frustrated easily, don't even think about ____ing with this.

it's very tedious. the interior is built in a circle almost. every thing is on top of something else.

you have to take out the dome lights, remove the rear seats to remove the rear side panels to remove the pillars, and the seat belts get in the way of the pillars.

etc etc. and yes, there is double sided tape in addition to velcroed parts with wiring and such that don't like to play nice. and most everything is held with plastic breakable clips.

and to quote the others above, the headliner creases in a heartbeat. take off one part, go to take off another, look back: yeh, you creased it.

it's doable, obviously. and if you're willing to have your car apart for a long ___ time in order to go slow and meticulously, then by all means enjoy yourself.

i am a tech and my front and rear sunroofs both rattle. and my hatch does too.
i've had my car for almost a year. I haven't even bothered with it becuase i know the headliner is so annoying. and moreso cuz i need my car to drive to work everyday.

This was the most pain in the **** headliner I have ever worked with.

We took it down, waited a few weeks to reinstall and that caused alot of information forgotten, a real pain to put back up.

We are taking it down one more time, when we install the CF roof and then will probably just insulate it and leave the headliner off permanently, depends on how it all looks at that time.

Instead of removing the headliner for it, you could just take off the front dome light to get at the wiring and give you some easy access up there - if it works for you, you're all set. If you're curious about how to do it, i think someone did a DIY for the mirror install tapping the power up there.

oh... i didn't take any offense or anything... just a lil shot down, thought that it shouldn't be too bad. good idea about just taking off the dome controls... but i sorta tried last night, not as simple as i'd expect, plus i don't wana break any clips. i found the install guide by toyota for the EC/homelink mirror install... i know what wires to tap, still can't get to it though
