Heater problem?
Living in NE wisco is frigid, -43 with windchill today. Start my car this morning, let it run for a few, turn the heater on and the blower motor does nothing, but the relay is clicking... at this point I'm a little eager to get to work, not cause work is great, but for the sake of dodgin frost bite. 3/4 of the way there and I'm saying to myself how it needs to go in for some work, and pow, blower motor kicks in....? WTF.. this happen to anyone else?
It is just too cold.........-43 wind chill is too much for the poor thing..........man that sucks........tomorrow when I am at work and it is raining and 34 out I will not feel so bad now.......
Heck ya I warm it up, let it run for at least 15 min. Its been colder out earlier this winter and it didnt do it, hmm, maybe moisture freezin it up, or the grease that the fan spins on was froze...?
yeah, probably... this is my third winter in Wisconsin, and holy crap, its soooo much colder on this side of the lake. Last winter it was sub-zero maybe twice... even worse this year.

there was someone else on here, don't have time to do a search but you could. The other person had the same problem as you, the blower motor wouldn't turn at all. So you're not alone and i do think he had an 07 too.
I know this is an older post, but same EXACT thing this morning. Temperatures got to 22 below here last night. By the way 06' xB 82,000 miles. I let it warm up, hopped in it and took off. I went to turn on the fan and NOTHING. Could hear the relay click but thats it. I was hoping that something was just frozen so I drove it around for an hour or so. Still nothing. So, I came home and parked it and started researching this site on blower probs. Then I found this thread. Went back out started it again and it kicked right on. Im totally relived. Did not wanna tear apart my dash to replace a blower motor. Tonight so far it is 14 below right now at 9PM. Tomorrow if I have the same situation its going in the garage with a space heater in it till it thaws. Im no mechanic but I've never heard of that happening. Maybe Scions are more succeptable to the blower fans freezing at extremely cold temps?
I believe what it is, is that the compound the use the lube the bearings has a higher freezing temperture than it should. Then there has to be some sort of safety relay in there to cut the load to it so you dont end up frying wires. Once that compound thaws, it's just a matter of re-starting your can to reset the system.
I don't see why anything or any one would want to go outside when its that cold.
Your car was probably just ____ed off at you for putting it in weather that cold.
It was probably say screw you i'm going to make you freeze your ___ off.
Sorry i have nothing better to say.

Sorry guys, I did fail to mention when I did go out to do the initial startup it was about 1Pm in the after noon. The temp. should've risen quite a bit by then. It is now 11:15pm and the temp is now 18 below. I am almost tempted to go crank her up just to see what happens. 82,000 miles on this car and not a seconds trouble with it other than normal maintenance issues like brakes, plugs, oil etc etc. Temps very rarely drop this low here in Ohio. So, I guess this is a test tonight and tomorrow to see what happens with the blower or just if it will start at all!
