Default How to get mudd off engine bay area / parts?

I stored my tC for winter, and then I took it on a trip as weather cleared, and the day I left it snowed, and I had to drive on a road under construction, and mudd got under the car and on some parts in the engine bay. I tried hosing it off, as I can reach it all to wipe it down....but it seems to almost be baked in on the parts from the heat....Any ideas? I thought of maybe a pressure washer instead...Its not a big deal...just dont like it being there if I can get it off somehow easy! lol. Or do you think its bake in on the parts? (rubber hoses etc)

Thanks!

i use the product called the green stuff. its biodegradable and does not contain any petroleum that will dry out your hoses. if you have a pressure washer its nice to have, but for peps that do not. just goto your local car wash booth and spray away. make sure you cover all electrical parts and you might want to use a small brush to break away the hard stain. and use the pressure washer to clean it off.

whats up! Hey I dont have a pressure washer, I did once and the motor blew up. lol. I think I am going to purchase a new one and get a warranty. Because when I take my car to those pressure washers u drive into and do yourself...it costs like $1.75, but by the time I am done I spend prob $5. cause whenever the alarm goes off for 45 seconds or whatever left...I pump in a dollar more and keep going....owning your own hooked up to your own hose is much nicer to not have any limit of time! I seen one on sale at target for $90 I believe!

I love them for cleaning my rims and getting off splattered bugs!

get you some SIMPLE GREEN , Open the hood of your car , and spray the engine down with the simple green , let it soak , then lightly hose the motor down , keep the hose moving at all times , DO NOT POINT THE HOSE IN ONE SPOT AND LET IT SIT THERE , Spray the simple grean down again and finish scrubbing the motor parts and trying to get to the hard to reach spots , Again Hose the motor with a steady stream of water but again DO NOT LET THE HOSE JUST POINT AT ONE SPOT , KEEP THE FLOW OF WATER MOVING BACK AND FORTH . When you feel you have rinsed most of the simple green off , go back with an old towel and dry up any excess water and your motor will look new again . Did this to a friends xB and the motor came out great and YEAH IT STILL RAN LOL . You can use a special dressing for engine bays but I would stay away from them , They usually just cause more dirt and dust to attach to the parts of the motor . Good luck hope it turns out good for ya
