Default I could really do without other cars trying to 'race' me.

I have nothing but suspension mods.

The only exterior mods are my s2000 antenna, a *tiny* TRD "/ //" logo, and rims. And yet, cars keep trying to race my tC.

Tonight it was a dented-up '99 Civic that kept revving it's engine at me. I can deal with revving at a stoplight, that's sort of friendly.

But following me home, pacing me the entire way, then whipping in and out of my lane trying to get me to race--that's just sad.

And I was driving 40 the entire way, on a 55, trying to get him to leave me alone. Yelling "I'm impressed!" at a stoplight didn't seem to help.

What's your strategy for getting rid of wannabe racer-x-ers?

If my windows are down, I'll give them a disapproving look or shake my head, then roll up my 20% tints and close my sunroof shades and go into what I like to call "stealth mode".

That or I'll rev it and tap against the rev limiter in neutral (injen CAI and HKS sounds mean as hell) it'll usually shut their coffee can up or make them floor it at the light as I calmly go my way.

If neither of those work, I box them into slow moving traffic.

I've never had anyone follow me or pace me, if I did though, I'd make sure my suspension set up lost em around a few bends.

I had that happen on the way to work today. Stupid Eclipse with a fart canner and a huge wing. He flew up on my a$$, then got in the other lane and cut me off, then he'd wait for me to get beside him. I hate it when people try to race me. I'm not an idiot.

~6k.

It's probably not the best for the engine to bounce off the rev limiter, but it sounds soooo good >_<

Same thing happens to me.
Nothing but rims, antenna, and springs.
But for some reason, on my way home from Tampa, an M3 wants to race me.
Now, if my Z could beat an M3 by maybe a car, how is my TC going to?
People just do it to feel cool.
Just turn up the radio and drive.

Honestly, people don't mess with me either, at least, as much as I would think they would. I get maybe 1 guy every 3-4 months.

20% tints, 19s, s-techs, stanley cup slanted hks exhaust. Maybe they just don't want of this? lolol

*edit*

Also, sorry, but I'm gonna have to wave the flag on a Z beating an m3, unless the Z was heavily modded or it was an E36 M3.

No one bothers me either.

I guess people here don't like to race their horse and buggies.

I simply ignore.. nobody's tried to race my completely stock tC yet, though. In the WRX, I ignore anything that's not turbo or a v8 ;)

yuup! I have done that a few times..... then it can get really dumb when the other car throws on the hazards.
I have only one incident in my tC, which was the 1st day I got it. A blue tC w/ TRD axleback was messing around but I let it go; was more worried about getting home safely.

Just ignore them. They're just like kids, if they dont get the attention, they'll stop...i hope.. Actually, its never happened to me in the tC b4.

lol I do the same thing in the tC.

What really ____es me off is when I'm on my CBR and every car tries to race me. I'm talking every Civic/Mustang/Camamo/BMW/Camry, everything.

Only once has a car put up a challenge. It was a97/ 98 GSX with a lot done to it. We went from a roll at about 30, and went up to about 120 and he was about a car length behind me. I wasn't giving it everything though because I had my girl on the back, but it didn't stop me from liftin the front end quite a bit on the launch. Gave him a thumbs up and went on my way

Great Post!

On my way back home this weekend from Seattle there was a Ford Probe going the other way around a corner trying to look bad ___ and rev his engine. Acting like he also wanted to race me.

Rather funny. I think someone forgot to tell him that he was driving a pile of ____ with a body kit and a coffee can pressed into the back of the stinky slugde. I was affraid that his engine was going to blow if he reved it too much.
