I dropped a small piece of hard candy down the handbrake opening and into the console . I cannot vacuum it out nor pick it out with a pair of chopsticks. It now rattles sometimes when I stop. I am concerned the candy will melt and affect whatever is down there. It's annoying enough for me to think about it but probably not annoying enough to spend hundreds of dollars at the dealers. Any suggestions?

I don't think it's extremely difficult to remove that console.

My friend uses his auxillary holder or whatever (that little box in front of the cup holders) as a coin holder and once filled it up and coins came out through the gap in the lid. I think I remember him saying it was pretty easy to remove that console to get all the coins out.

 

ya that whole center piece pops off, i know cuz i installed my shift boot and pulled it off

 

i have that same problem, with the coins.... its so frustrating... b/c the tC doesn't squeek enough as it is! haha, i wish there was SOMETHING i could do to reduce the rattles... b/c i usually drive with music on, loudly, lol, but when its not, or if im just relaxing and driving around... i hear all these noises...... =grosse!
any ideas?

Haha sorry but when i first read your heading it was funy. but yeah try removing the center pieces and you should be able to grab it.
