Oops sorry purpled... I wasn't paying attention, I just quickly went back and edited my post to thank you because I forgot to. I've gone to three dealers to negotiate a trade in... including a carmax, which wanted 10200 for it (BULL).

I agree with you on the whole bailout thing... and the common consensus among all dealers I've talked to say the best time to buy is between now and new years.

 

car salesmen are like military recruiters. they'll tell you anything you want to hear or anything that will make you buy/join. it's finding that one salesman/recruiter that is actually telling you the real deal that's the hard part. not to say they're lying, but i'd be willing to bet that they were told to say that if someone asked. they're still trying to move 08's off the lot i'm sure. have to spoke with your dad? see what he thinks. or if you have an investment savvy friend/family member.

 

Everyone I've talked to, car dealer or not, says the best time to buy is before January.

I know I'm not going to be making any money out of this... I just want a truck...
