I thought the joke was people making the tC and hondas fast, until I saw the date. The tC will not be the car to get to be Fast and Furious. It will be as stupid as people pouring thousands into civics, integras, and del sol's. You won't be fast. You will be laughed at. If you want to race, do some research first, and you put your money into something that can achieve respectable results. I am not trying to put down the tC. I'm looking forward to it, and I am seriously considering buying one. I'm not looking forward to pulling at to a light and seeing some jackass in a tC rev at me just because he got a S/C and then fiddled with exhaust and some silly bolt ons. Please people, don't let this car become the next civic. I'd hate to have to trade it in in a year or two.

Don't get me wrong the tC is a nice car, and I'll probably get one as well, but it has nothing on the Supra.

I kinda have to agree that's it's nuts to put 10 grand of upgrades into a 16k car.

 

Looks like you guys haven't spent that amount in upgrades to a relatively inexpensive car. There are Integras out there that run the quarter in about 10 seconds and they still drive on the streets. Once you've got the mod bug, it'll come back to bite you every once in a while when you have the right car

 

All of a sudden speed is measured in class and not 1/4 slips?

What is considrered a respectable car to be fast in? I doubt I can afford it anyways

You guys are obviously missing the point on the tC. It IS supposed to be the next civic or integra! Except there's one HUGE difference, THE MOTOR. I'd love to pay 16k for a 2.4L motor, that's an ___-Load of room to work with. You can pull way more HP out of this motor than you ever could have with a Civic or Integra, and that's using the STOCK motor, no swaps needed here bud! With the right work, I can easily see someone pulling 600HP out of this motor, it's gonna be INSANE!!! Stop hatin on the tC before it even comes out, why don't you guys wait, see what kind of parts are available, and I can damn near guarantee that in a year you all will regret stating that the tC will never be in the same class as a 350 or even a Supra. Yes of course it won't have a sequntial twin turbo, but it has the potential to be DAMN fast, and that is why Scion was created, to give tuners a platform to make insanely awesome cars!

 

I would totally agree except I haven't seen much tuning info on this 2.4L motor...however, I want to get about 240HP out of the engine by next year. I chose the tC because I hate how emasculated the Civic Si is and I can't afford an RSX new. It is great to get a nice performing new car with an amazing interior (my favorite since the Audi TT) at such a low price...the tuning part will be a bonus if everything goes as planned. Plus, I really think that I will have something unique (as opposed to the millions of Civics/Integras/RSX)...
