Increased stolen tCs!!
A cop told me the other day that Scions have been increasingly getting stolen.. New York City and Newark. I heard the tC has the same exact setup under the steering column of the Camry. As everyone should know Camrys are in the Top 5 for most stolen vehicles.
So...What's the best anti theft device out there besides the Scion alarm. Which steering wheel locks are good? Right now I only have the Autolock that connects to the pedal. Help me and yourself put more security on your car.
Don't let your investment get stolen.

He basically said tCs are being stolen easily since it has the same setup as the Camry. He didn't tell me how they were stolen but i guess people who know how to steal a Camry can steal a tC also.
Maybe they were hotwired? That's I need to know what's the best steering lock out there? And if the Autolock really works. My friend's Integra is secured by two Autolocks one for the brake and clutch.

By hotwiring the car, wouldn't our ignition kill system sense some kind of tampering and stop the engine? Man, if that's not the case then that blows!
I got a Clifford Matrix 10.5 paging system set on the highest sensor, but if they figure out a way to bypass it, I was relying on the ignition kill.

I would think that Toyota change the steering column. I doubt they would stick to a design for 20-years. Although I still see Gen 1 and 2's running like new.
Gen 1 (1983-1986)

Gen 2 (1987-1991)

The Scion tC key emits a signal from what I heard. Most cars produced now including the new generation of Civics have keys that have some sort of signal relationship to starting vehicles now.
I'd like to know exactly how tC's are being stolen to see if it is true.

Lo-Jack is always a good thing.
And wtf, how is an airsoft gun going to stop someone from jacking your car?

LoJack.. will get you your car back but wat about all the mods that are not listed under insurance?
Best thing IMO is Aftermarket steering wheel (Detachable), Alarm system, Tint (usually helps keep windows together when tried to break), and park your car close to you and safe.
