Only stupid thieves bash. The right tool will shatter entire window with just a small click. Window tint holds all the pieces together nicely.

The idiots that broke into my T-bird pulled the metal away from the glass tryin to slim jim. Then ended up throwing a rock through the driver window. And stole nothing.

And NO i'm not a car thief.

Bottom Line: your tC's key and ignition is not the same as most Camrys. For 2006 the only Camrys that come standard with the engine immobilizer are all XLE, LE V6, and SE V6 models. The Camrys that are the most stolen do not have the engine immobilizer

And even though I and others have said it before the only way to steal a tC or Camry equiped with the engine immobilizer is to steal the owners keys or have a tow truck.

Keep in mind however that engine immobilizers won't stop some dumba** from breaking into your car and stealing your stuff, but it will keep them from stealing the car.

best ting IMO is aftermarket steering wheel (detachable), alarm system, tint (usually helps keep windows together when tried to break), and park your car close to you and safe.
I agree

Parking as close to entrances when you go places, and parking your car in a garage if you have one at home, is very helpful as well.

Lol, no, not at all. Steering wheel locks adre useless and easily defeated. A good set of bolt cutters applied to the steering wheel is enough to snip the steering wheel, at which point, the lock can be slipped off.

Even a removeable steering wheel is easily defeated by using a pair of vice grips in the sterring hub. Ghetto, but can still be used to drive the car back to a chop shop

And yes, I used to be a car thief ;) ( j/k)

Good Idea! And much quieter than a battery powered reciprocating saw.

Mines a little different. Dose'nt have the grip safety and has a disassembly release above the trigger.

I'd really like a glock 18. Selector switch for full auto. Now were talkin FIREPOWER!

And it hardly makes any noise. I did that to a Abandoned car before it already had broken windows. broke the windows with a spark plug. Just break the spark plug and grab the Porcelin chunks. It makes very little noise at all really. All you hear is the glass falling it seems. I was only about 16 when i did that

I always see an ad at the top of Scionlife for the Ravelco. It's a little plug that is connected to every major device that is needed for the vehicle to run. When you take the little plug out, it disconnects all sources of power except for that of the ecu which is needed for like the fuel maps and whatnot, but everything else is no workie workie.
The wiring is also encased in a thick metal coping that is supposed to be like armor plating or something. check out their site, www.ravelco.com, I was going to have it installed in my glovebox so you dont see the plug. Anyway, this might work so all they can take is like CDs and stuff.

I also have 5% tint all the way around. It helps at night because they can't see what is in the car, or someone in the car. I had these (hmm hmm border jumpers) come up to my back window and try and look inside, and they couldn't see in the car so they just walked away.

The tC has an engine immobilizer, or "keysense". It's not easy to reprogram it, and it would require the original key. So, you have nothing to worry about.

I thought the point of this exercise was if someone were trying to steal your car while you weren't around? In which case you're a fool with a gun without a car to shoot said thief?

Now, my question is if you're using the non-fob key, does that key still operate Keysense? With my old (old) Mercedes you had two keys - the key without the 'dot' could open the door but wouldn't disable the car alarm, nor could you open the trunk or glove box with it
(so if you only had this second key there was no way to turn of the car alarm or start the car). I haven't messed around with the alternate keys enough to know if this sort of principal applies here, but I imagine that is the case?
