All I know is if my car gets stolen, I hope they torch it, drive it off a pier or crash it in to something at 90 mph. Nothings worse than having your car stolen, beaten on, trashed and returned to you.

I bet something like this will help a thief solve that problem!

you can have the best alarm system in the world but if they're out for your car, they will find a way. I heard that if you put the right pressure on the window, the window will shatter with just a click like someone said earlier.

Doesn't help when you see these window breaking little hammers are sold all over the place. The one that's supposed to help you escape your car if it's burning or going underwater. :x
Right! they might as well sell Slim Jims at Target for the thieve's convenient shopping!
My brother's Turbo A4 just got hit by thieves this last Friday. Smashed the passenger front side window. We suspect that they used the small hammer because of the relatively small mess that they left and the absence of body damage.
There's really no guarantees out there that you won't get hit. Just learn to park in the most secure areas you can find. My brother didn't do that, (doesn't help too that he left his iPod FM transmitter plugged into his lighter, the only thing they stole), now he's paying for it.

However it is easier to see the car by itself with someone messing with it, than a car next to a bunch of other cars with the alarm going off. It just depends how far away you are. If I was going to break into a car, I would rather have some other cars blocking peoples view of what I am about to do.

Its easier to see a car by itself in a parking lot with the lights flashing & alarm than a car surrounded by other cars in a packed lot, with the same lights going off etc.

also they will ook for car alarm decals to figure out which method to use to eliminate the alarm.

Never display stickers that advertise what sort of car alarm you have, or audio system for that matter. Consider using a hood lock cable so the thief can't get to your battery or car alarm mechanism.

By the way for all of you rookies. The tC key is Chipped with an Immobilizer chip that emits a resistance signal to the ECM... in order to steal one they need the resistance of the Chip that is in your key. Bit write it into their device and then start the car.. otherwise the only way to steal it is to push it.
They are better off kicking your ___ outside the car, jacking your key and taking off with your precious car. The Camry is different, if you went cheap on the car u don't get an immobilizer system and cops are dumb so that is why they would probably say something like that just so u have a post going in some forum.

This really makes me nervous..

They can get a friend at Scion, grab the VIN that is visible on the outside of the car and it's gone..

Kathryn, while you do make a good argument. What person or persons in thier right mind go through all that to steal a Scion tC?

Yes of course the car can scoot too. Who is this sledge-o-matic guy ---I have no clue who that is?

And you would be surprised what people will do to steal a car.

Gallagher was a comedian who was famous for a BFH known as the sledge-o-matic.

And I was'nt asking if the car is capable I was asking if you are. And you've already answered my question.
