Info Help For Brembo Brakes
i just received my set of brembo drilled rotors. According to their instructions they say the slot or drill pattern should go opposite of the rotation. After lookin around here on sl every pic that i have seen the slots or drill pattern go with the rotation. Which is right?
stick with what brembo says. A lot of people are in a rush to get things down they dont read the directions. But if brembo says to do it i would do it as well. And I hope you purchased new brake pads to go along with those beautiful rotors.
yeah, the direction of the outer veins aren't what really matter, it is the internal veins that do.
i have powerslot rotors, and their veins go oposite of the way they go in that brembo diagrahm. but they are stamped with an L and R for left and right to make sure you put them on the right side.
stop tech rotors are also like that.

Jus using simple logic and no actual knowledge at all, I would think it would go AWAY from the direction of travel. As in the opposite of what brembo shows.
Think about centrifigual force throw objects from the center of a rotating mass. And if there is a groove facing the direction of travel it will funnel air TOWARDS the center of mass. Isnt the purpose to allow hot gasses to leave the rotor? So why would you want anything directed towards the center? Wouldnt you want the hot gases to escape away from the disc?
But since brembo is INTERNALLY vented, I guess thats why brembo does it that way.

basically you want the top most drilled hole, or the top of the slot in the rotor (in above picture) to rotate so it kind of 'carves' out towards the front of the car.
dont mount them like you would throw a ninja star, that is wrong.
the directions you posted are indeed correct. i dont think it matters as much for drilled rotors however.
p.s. those are stoptech rotors. i've had brembo in the past and they mount the same way. your rotors should have come with little stickers on it that tell you where each one mounts to (FR, RL, etc.)
