insurance question- First time new car buyer
Well today is the day and im so excited been dealing with the bank all day trying to get my finances and them to wire of the money to my dealer(banks in San antonio dealer in austin) Anyways my question before i pick up the car do i have to have transfer my insurance from my other car before i get my new one. Kind of confused on this.

most insurances will cover you for your new car for a certain period of time (like 24-48 hours). As soon as you have the new car, you should call your insurance agent to get the coverage switched to your new vehicle, and they can fax you a proof of insurance to carry in your glovebox.

i think it differs between states, in MD if u already have a full coverage policy, then u have a grace period like jaydub said, its like 30 days here! if u only had liability then u would have to get full coverage before u took delivery of the tC.

I am in Texas, I had to show proof of insurance on the TC before they gave me the keys. I went buy the insurance company before I picked up the car. They did all right then and there and gave me an insurance car before I even had the car.
