Unhappy Intake manifold Help!?

I have scion tC 2009 trd edition. I was looking to install an intake manifold (not sure which one yet) what I have noticed from videos is that the some of the aftermarket ones, do not have a catalytic converter as the stock one does. I know sounds dumb but did anyone get their engine light on when you installed it??

Do you mean exhaust manifold? Also known as a "header"? Yes, some have catalytic converters and some do not. Most headers will give you a check engine light. They sell a check engine light eliminator if that does happen.

If you want to mod the car to make it fast, get a turbo kit but be prepared to spend way more money then its worth
Replacing the exhaust and intake manifolds will cost you nearly as much and get you a fraction of the power a turbo would offer

If you want to just make in noisy get a fart can

Recently put in Raceland's exhaust headers and my CEL did turn on after a while. Found a good thread for a DIY anti-fouler to fix that. The link is http://clubsciontc.com/forums/diy-install-guides-23/diy-cel-eliminator-antifouler-made-from-scratch-35021/ I've done the prep, haven't had a minute to put it in yet. Once I do, I'll let you know if it worked or not lol
