I've got my 05 sitting on 4 craftsmen jack stands...I think they're just standard 2-ton stands. It's been on them for about 3-4 weeks now and they're holding up great.

Those are the ones I'm using.

Sure it is. I think he means use the 2x4s to get the extra clearance for you tall jackstands.

I use these Craftsman stands and floor jack that I got from K-Mart, $60 for jack and stands.

I've used that trick, drive up on a 2x6 to get enough space to get the floor jack under, raise it up enough to use the stands, then pull out the jack and 2x6 to pull the wheel off. Just make sure you put the 2x6 back under the tires when you lower the car back down or there may not be room to pull the jack out.

thats exactly what i meant.
i have to use them cuz my car sits to low to get any jacks underneath it.
just use em to get the car higher off the ground so you can get the jacks under there, then you can pull em out until your done.
wedge em back in there, and your good to go!

if you need 2x4s to get a jack under the car what do you do if you have a roadside flat? tow truck?

I had S-techs and was able to use the jack that came with the car with ZERO issues. Had to jack it up a good 2-3 inches before I even came close to the lift points.

well i can get a small one under there if i absolutely have to, but id rather not take my chances if i dont have to.
and u can always lift up a little on the rear panle right above the tire to gain a little clearance.
if i had to get my car on a towtruck, id prob take the body panels off first.
lol
