I thought about it. Kinda looks neat with the raw aluminum finish on the faces lol.

I can polish the faces without taking them apart. The lips will be done before I seal them up. Just have to tape them up and be careful. I went and got some steel wool today to finish the first lip. I was gone all day though and I just got home so I may or may not work on them tonight.

I stripped the center caps yesterday so they're ready for paint if I go that route. It would be pretty tough trying to polish them.

And believe me if I wasn't broke I'd roll down there to get some help lol.

How difficult is it to polish? I'm contemplating polishing mine just because it is different.

It's not hard, just time consuming. First strip the paint with some Aircraft paint remover. It may take a few coats depending on how well the paint was applied. Then wash the wheels (if you have a power washer use it). Then remove any metal burrs from the casting/forging process. An abrasive disc works well. Then start sanding with whatever grit is needed. The rougher the surface, the coarser the sandpaper you need to start with. I began at 220 and went to 2000 (600-2000 was wet sanding) on the lip my dumbass used a wire brush on. Finally wet sand it with 0000 grade steel wool and follow that with polishing compound.

Lol I'll have to get down there one day when the funds aren't so low. I don't know of any wheels for sale off the top of my head. But I do see sets on CL from time to time. And I would like another exhaust, but I can't trade my stock. I made that mistake once and it took me a while to finally get one again. Silence is golden lol.

Yeah cash is tight or it will be after I order the tires and stuff. I spent 6 hours working on them today. Found out the paint etched one of the lips so it will have to be cut down and repolished after IA. I should be done with the other 2 tomorrow.

Also means big delay lol. But I'm about to go do the other 2 lips then attempt one face just to see how hard it's gonna be since I would need to sand them to 600 anyway before I paint.
