Hey guys. I have a Injen CAI on my tC and should be cleaned. I bought this last night:

[K&N Recharger Filter Care Service Kit

Includes:
8 oz. Squeeze Oil, 12 oz. Filter Cleaner and Service Decal]

Is it okay to use this on my Injens CAI Air Filter? The Injen one is 2x the price and I can only find it online. Let me know. I'd like to clean that puppy this afternoon.

How do you know when it needs to be cleaned? Just from looking at it? How many miles have you put on it?

 

When the dealer lies to you about doing it for you when you get routine maitenance on your car, even when you provide the cleaning kit!

Oh sorry just exploding over the fact that i now have no idea how long my filter has been NOT ATTACHED to the CAI. I know for sure at least 3k miles

But yea, you can use the KN kit on just about any non paper air filter to clean. If you aren't driving on dirt roads, i'd say every 7-10k miles just give it a good cleaning.

 

take off the air filter and clean with warm water, dish soap, and a toothbrush. remember to rinse inside out. after it dries, use the K&N kit to oil it up. you'll be good to go.
