Default MORE INFO ON K&N TYPHOON

If this is any indication of performance, it gave the xB an 8.1 HP increase.

hehe good price zac.

now I got a question, how much "noise" does a CAI usually add to the car? does the engine sound more throaty or just whines or something. I wanna know about the drawbacks before I buy this...

sorry, car n00b.

the intake will sound deep and throaty.

when we put on one my friend's Spec V, we were like "cool" but when the cam switched over, it got LOUD. we were liky giddy schoolboys.

I don't mind the extra noise and I like the throaty sound. It's really not that loud, at least without headers and exhaust too, but I'm still worried about any squeaking or high pitched noises, especially lower in the power band. I'm not buying this until several people on this site have purchased and installed this intake and can vouch for it.

Any guesses on how this will effect fuel economy? By my estimation, if this lets the engine pull in more air, the ECU will compensate and add more fuel, hence more power but lower mileage. Any way to calculate this?

lower gas mileage comes with adding power..it comes with the territory. if you wanna add power to your car, your gonna have to get used to the fuel economy declining..as for an intake, i dont think itll change very much. i had an AEM CAI on my corolla and my mileage got worse, cept it was cuz i would drive it harder with it on.
