technically speaking yes. scion dealers only offer AEM for intake systems. and they only cover it if they install it ( the aem intake). now i'm not sure what your local dealer will say, but if you want you can always ask. thats what all my local dealers told me. i think they were offering me the AEM intake for $400 plus install. if you're worried about warranty, just re-install your factory intake (stock box) when you take it in. thats what i'll be doing.

My filter on my car is always pretty wet after a good rain. Its mainly the chrome tip though. I have got the whole filter pretty wet once but I was sure to push in the clutch. My car has an AFM (Air Flow Meter) and it closes at idle. So no air goes through the intake when the car is at idle. It still has to travel through the turbo, intercooler pipes, intercooler. I dont really think hydrolock would be a problem on my Mx6. Of course it could happen.
