Default Keyless Entry

Alright - can anyone who's got their tC already tell me about how the keyless entry works? If you don't get the security feature, do you have to press a button on the key to unlock? Is that all it does? I don't suppose it's like the Prius where you get near it and it unlocks, is it? Can anyone tell me how this works, especially vis a vis the security option? Is the only difference that when it would be locking it also arms the alarm?

Let me know.

it's an thing one the key that send out RF signal to the car, then the car will open the door, you press unlock once, the driver side door will unlock, press it second time all the doors will unlock. i guess it has special embeded code that make the key holder the only person can unlock the car. press lock once to lock all your doors.

the engine immobilizer will arm itself whenever your key is remove from the key slot.

Thanks - kinda what I figured but it's good to get it straight. I want to be the guy that knows more than the dealer does when I buy it. Judging from posts around here, it doesn't seem like that will be too hard.

Found a lot of other things by doing a search too. You should try it some time.

If it had value, I wouldn't mind the bump... but this is ridiculous.
